If imported data had points that are duplicated but the lines /strings are not linked to those points. Use Data Clean Up to remove the duplicated unlinked points. Or if a line joins one point that is duplicated and starts from another points at the same coords, Data Clean Up to prompt which point to remove and after adding the point number, lines / strings are unlinked - point is removed and the lines / strings are re-attached to the remaining point.
