Automated LS transformation

Hi Barkley.

Great to see you at the Conference in Sydney and I hope you had a nice time!!!

Often I get information sent to me that is in 2 separate datums.

Civil - GDA94

Architectural - arbitrary.

I need to do LS transformation based on the title information to transfer one to the other (pick 3 or 4 corners and shift).

Wondering if (when I get new data) I can somehow automate this linework to be shifted (once selected) based on previous LS Transformation parameters.....or do I have to perform LST again and pick property corners again?

Hope you are going well mate.

Loving Topcon office and field so far. Loving the quick codes.

    Hi Mark,

Great to see and talk with you a bit again! I enjoy coming over and getting to talk to the users.

Based on your description, you would need to walk through the LS transformation again. If it is just to get the linework moved over to one system or the other and all is in one project, I'd take a look at the Align command in the modify ribbon. This is only a 2d alignment but works well for linework. There is an option to scale the source points to the alignment points. This works well for x,y. If you are looking for a Z transformation, we are currently working on that in the LS transformation routine. If it is just a constant elevation difference between the source and destination points then you could do an elevation adjustment on the points if required, using edit points or the property panel.

Have a go with the align command and see if it helps.

    Cheers,

    Barkley
