The function to add a line perpendicular to a chosen baseline is particularly handy. There are two variations that would add useful functionality to the existing option. This would likely need to be a new option on its own.
It would be useful if the baseline could automatically be extended or trimmed to provide a common point at the base of the perpendicular.
Equally, it would be useful to be able to trim or extend the newly created perpendicular to intersect with another line. That other line could either be predetermined as the closest line to the end of the perpendicular or a line selected by the user.
Diagrams attached.
This sounds like a combination of Insert> Line > Perpendicular that also does Modify> Extend/trim line. Which I guess you need to do now to get the same results, is that correct? If there is a high demand for such function to be added, maybe it could be an extension on the Perpendicular line command.
