Increase character number in new Global Code for Layers

In Global Codes when you add a new code and enter the Layer name, the character limit is 31. Whereas you can edit the layer in Property Manager or Layer Manager and add an extra 20+ characters to the layer name. Customer have a regional roads authority client who have long layer names that are required, but the Survey Codes > Layer entry is limited to the 31 characters. Can the Layer character limit in Survey Codes be increased to coincide with limits in Layer Manager.
