Applying a correction value for manually entered bearings & distances

When undertaking Cadastral Surveys, it is common to use information from multiple Deposited Plans which all have different orientations and versions of length. It would be good to have a function which allows the user to apply a temporary bearing swing/correction of say 7 deg 23' 36" for all manually inputted values and the ability to work in metres but input values in feet & links. This would save the surveyor doing corrections on a calculator for every value entered.

    Thanks for the comments Barkley. These matters are relating to manual inputs in the Survey View. I tried your tips on the distances - absolutely perfect (never new that was there). Thanks

    Maybe with the bearing input, you could do a similar thing. Type the bearing in and if you want to apply a constant then press + or - which would allow the user to enter a bearing constant (7deg 23' 36") and just like the bearing & distance, would default to the same value when the + or - was entered or it could simply be a rotation value entered in the Default properties - Prompt for point properties.

    Are you using the travers editor or are you adding data in the survey view?
    In either, when entering distance you can specify the unit after the distance value. For example in you are in a metric job and want to enter a distance value of 100 feet, enter 100' in the distance field. If the project is in US feet, and want a distance of say 30 meters, enter 30m in the distance field. This can be done regardless of the project unit setting.

    Dist value suffix
    m = meter

    " = inches
    ' = feet
    p = poles (16.5')

    c = chains (66 ft)

    l = lnks (7.92")

    r = rods (16.5 ft)

    There is a swing angle column in the traverse editor and the raw data editor. A swing angle can be applied to all shots from a setup or for individual measurements. However this is not available when say adding a line by direction in the survey view. It is a good idea, will look into it. Please have a look at these options and let me know if there are any issues or suggestions.
