Could you see if they could make the 3d surface viewer controls with the mouse to be more like virtual surveyor. Going between the two if really shows how awkward the magnet version feels to navigate.
Many people probably use 1,2 maybe 3 different types of CAD software. I noticed in another software, there were options for how to rotate in 3D view.
So keep the Current Viewer Controls as default, with options that could be set as a preference in the Program settings. Then people can customise the Topcon interface to suit themselves.
In my experience, people love options, and helps bond people with a software and keep brand loyalty.
This would be a long way short of any danger in compromising the Topcon Office Identity, or of complicating the program.
I'm not sure what virtual surveyor feels like but the fact that within Magnet there are two different navigation controls makes no sense to me. I agree the Magnet 3D viewer is just awkward.
This Topic definately needs a re-visit.

This is a bit of a sore point for me aswell, when using the 3D viewer in Trimble Business Centre I find it alot easier to navigate than Magnet also.
