"When creating a string, i select the points(more than 2, 3 works for illustration) for string location, say insert string, then the Create String prompt comes up and asks what I want to name the string and what layer it needs to be in. The first list item is Name: test. Now if I want to change the name to Test i can type it in. If i hit ok, then the string name is saved and everything is good, however, most of the time since I'm using linework for Takeoff boundaries and Takeoff portion of Magnet doesn't recognize strings (only boundaries) the logical step is to convert this string to a boundary so i don't have to come back later and do it. Therefore, i select the "convert" button which takes me to the "String Conversion" prompt. at which point i select boundary. The problem is that I had already renamed the string in the "Create String" window, but that information is not transferring to the "String Conversion" window. Please have it transfer the information that i already filled in on the other page.
The second issues (continuation of step one above). While in the "string conversion" window which i believe to be a subset of the "create string" command since it was within the create string command window that routed me to the string conversion window. In the "String Conversion" window it has an ok and cancel button. If i hit the cancel button because i decided that i didn't want to convert my string after all, OR since the updated name of string in the "create String" command didn't transfer to the "string Conversion" window and i want to go back, copy it, and then paste it into the "String Conversion" window, a terrible thing happens. If i hit the cancel button, it doesn't just cancel the "String conversion" window. It cancels the string conversion AND the create string box, which really is not cool when spend 10 minutes tracing multiple lines to create one string that hopefully won't generate error messages in takeoff! Please, make it so the cancel button in String conversion box only cancels the string conversion box, not the entire create string command. "
Additional comment : "Noticed my original string name should have been different than the changed name. Think you got the point though, name from create string window doesn't transfer to string conversion window."
