It is a common requirement in road design to produce cross-sections, long sections (profiles), and plan view drawings of the road to be built. Magnet Office already has functionality for multi-sheet/drawing plots of cross-sections and profiles. What is missing is the ability to do the same batch production of plan views along an alignment.
I have used this functionality in other packages. It would be very useful if MO could do it too. As per the attached screenshot, producing drawings along the alignment can be done now manually. There are two problems; one, it’s extremely time-consuming to produce each drawing. Especially on major road/rail projects. Two, because each drawing is produced individually, you cannot take advantage of multi-sheet plotting or numbering as you can with cross-sections and long sections.
The ability to move the position after being produced would be critical for fine tuning the position of drawings. Presently you can specify overlap when producing multiple sheets but in corners this may need to be varied.
The ability to add/remove additional drawings from the sheet set would be useful. An interim solution could be to allow the development of multi-sheet drawings by selecting existing drawings in the survey view and combining them.
